These thin, protective coatings are painted onto newly erupted permanent back teeth and act as a shield against tooth decay. The effectiveness of dental sealants has been well documented by the American Dental Association. In fact, they have been shown to reduce the risk of cavities in children by about 80%. Furthermore, children who don't receive dental sealants are almost three times more likely to develop cavities compared to those who do.

Although dental sealants are quite durable and can last for several years, we will evaluate them at regular dental check-up visits. If needed, we will reapply the sealants to ensure ongoing protection against tooth decay.
